I'm feeling a little bit churchy at the moment. I don't usually get very churchy on my blog but today I will. Why you ask? Because I just realized that 13 years ago today I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Probably one of the most important decisions I have made in my life so far. Looking back I don't ever really remember it being a "decision", it was more of a this-is-what-i-do-when-i-turn-eight kind of a thing... I know that as an 8 year old I didn't realize how important what I was doing really was. But wow, I am sure grateful I did it.
In my mission prep class last semester we learned how to know if we are passing the test of mortality. There was a list of 5 things that you must do to pass the test and qualify for the Celestial Kingdom.
1-Baptism
2-Confirmation (Holy Ghost)
3-Priesthood (Melchezdik)
4-Endowment
5-Marriage (Eternal)
It sure is nice to know I am more than half way (since obviously I can't hold the priesthood) done with my test. And it all started with the simple step of being baptized. I'm so grateful that I was raised in the church and have been blessed with the greatest thing in my life: the gospel of Jesus Christ.
