Hey That's My Name!!

Me and my friends were driving down University Avenue and we saw this!! How crazy right?!

Bathroom Nightmare

So about a month ago, I moved into my new apartment called the Branbury. I live with my old roommate, Sharon, one of my best friends from high school, Lindsay, and a girl I didn't know before, Holly. So the first week we moved in, Lindsay and I didn't have any of our bathroom decorations yet including the shower curtain, rugs, etc. We went home for the weekend and brought back the supplies. So late sunday night I go into the bathroom to start putting the stuff in there and realize that the floor is sopping wet. The counter is sopping wet. And there is a leak in the ceiling. I yell to Linds and she gets a spare fishbowl. After the fishbowl fills up a little bit, we notice that the liquid, which we thought was water, was a little dirty and murky looking, but we figured that was because of rusty, old pipes. We call for maintenance and they show up about 2 hours later. They figure out it is from the apartment above us so they went to check things out. They came straight back to inform us that their toilet had flooded...meaning the water that we thought was dirty from pipes was actually PEE!! And it was all over our bathroom. And the ceiling was still leaking. We managed to fill the fishbowl to the brim and had to resort to a bucket. Eventually they got things taken care of and me and linds were able to do some major sanitizing! Great first impression of Branbury :)

Weird Address

You may be wondering why I have such a weird email for my blog.. haha well first of all, tons of the names I tried were already taken. There are far too many Melanie Miles' in the world. So I have this really great friend who was my FHE brother last year, and he is on a mission right now in Costa Rica. Anyways, he would always without fail call me Mel Schmel. So in memory of him (and for lack of a better idea) it is melschmel. ha ha This is Logan:
( He is the talking one)

Running slow...

Well I guess I am not as great at keeping a blog as I thought I would be! I am just so busy it is hard to find free time and when I do find a little free time I usually spend that time catching a quick little nap because lately I am getting about 5 hours of sleep maximum! So life has just been super crazy lately. I am working about 25-30 hours a week with a 15 credit hour load. Needless to say... I have no life. Fortunately I haven't minded too bad. I kind of like being a responsible adult. But there are so many nights I just want to cry because I want to stay home and pop in a movie instead of going to work. But I love my job!! For those of you that don't know, I work at the Target Pharmacy in Orem. I love it! I love the people I work with also! I dread going to work all day long until I step foot in the store and then I remember how much I enjoy being there. This week work has been a little stressful though because we rolled out a new software system and everybody is trying to learn the ropes. Anyways, that has basically been my life for the past 3 weeks since the last time I posted. However last week I went to the Brad Paisley concert! oh my heck I LOVE brad paisley! This was the second annual girls outing to see Brad. And I can assure you it will continue! Also, Me and my roommate Sharon took a little drive to see the temples all light up one night so I will share some pictures of that!

                                                       The Mt. Timp Temple

                                                        Good 'ol Provo

I just love temples so much! They are so pretty! and i feel SO blessed to have so many so close to me! It takes me about an hour and 20 minutes to drive home and I pass 8 temples on my way home! I love it!!

First Big Purchase!

I am officially the owner of a 2005 white Dodge Neon. I absolutely love it! It is a lot smaller than my honking huge avalon so it has been different to get used to, but i love the turning radius and such! It has been so fun! And I feel like such an adult. So grown up finally owning my own car. I already feel like this car is my baby! I'm so in love with it, and so careful! So far the only problem is adjusting to the non-automatic lights. My avalon had automatic lights so i never had to deal with them, but this car has manual lights and i have already forgotten 3 times to turn them off! So i have stuck a note on my keys to remind me to turn them off! I finally have my freedom back and i can go where i need to and do the things i need to! Thanks mom and dad for finding me a great new car !!

Car Dilemma :(

As many of you know my car has reached its final days.  It is officially dead. The battery keeps dying and it is to the point where it will not even turn over anymore; it just clicks. So this week has been a quite miserable one. I definitely took my car for granted! I never realized how much i use it! Thanks to my parents, up to this point I have been spoiled enough not to have to pay for a car or insurance or anything. But my time has come to grow up and be an adult. Luckily I have been blessed with a job the past couple of months so i have been able to save up a bit of money. On the other hand, having a job at this point hasn't been so convenient. I have been mooching rides off of everyone i know that owns a car down here. I HATE IT!! I feel like such an inconvenience. But my friends have been really great so i haven't had to resort to the 1.6 hour UTA bus ride to work. I will hopefully be getting my loan approved tomorrow, and car shopping on saturday so next week isn't so miserable! I've been looking at an '05 Kia Optima or an '03 Mazda Protege!

Welcome to Blogging!

After much consideration I have decided to join the blogging world. I know I love reading other blogs and getting the 411 on what is going down and since i don't have a facebook I figure this will be my way to let others know what I am up to. Also since I am away at school I know I don't usually inform my family of every detail in my life so this will be an easier way to do so. I'm going to use this as a sort of journal since I am so bad at journal writing. I swear it is written on my to do list everyday but i never get around to it and when I do I am way behind and too lazy to catch back up. So hopefully this will be a quicker, simpler, and more fun way to do so! And so it begins... :)
