Overload.

Overload may be an understatement. Because I'm one of those poor unfortunate souls with an Android, it is such a big, fat pain to upload my pictures from my phone!! But I love taking pics with my phone because it is convenient!! (and that is the only reason because 1-my camera takes pictures upside down for some reason and 2- my front camera is like a .5 megapixel so it is AWFUL--as you will see in half of these pictures!) Anyways, life has finally slowed down for 10 seconds and I decided to try and get caught up! Sorry it is so random and scattered. I have no idea what is going on with my blogger right now but i'm just lazy and don't know how to fix it so just go with it....

My recent life has consisted of....

*lots of basketball!! -little bro's senior year at Weber.

<<**The longest neck hair ever I found on my brother... Think it's time to start shaving bud ;)

**>>
We like to dress my cat up so HE can be a Glamour Girl :)

**More basketball!! But this time Jimmer was involved!! Sister date to ESA.
*** RECORD day at work... a normal day consists of about 280-300 prescriptions. This day I wanted to kill myself... 406. wooo
**Temple Square with the fam

** First time snowboarding in like 6 years!! So glad I caved and got a season pass to Sundance. I love it. I go by myself and my family makes fun of me.

*(below)* I made a Christmas tree out of construction paper instead of studying for finals to make my apartment feel a little more like christmas :)
**I biffed it after getting a little cocky and got a little injury. Nice fat, bloody lip. Didn't stop me from going back for more though!

**Got to spend some time with my cute little cousins! I have trillions of them, but I only got pics with these two cuties. Vienna and Lincoln.

**Got to spend some much needed time this break with friends! Lunch with Jade, who I haven't seen since April, Lunch with Courtney and Lindsay, and then two nights with my boys.

Ok, I'm going to get a little sappy. Honestly if you would have told me my sophomore year of high school the effect these boys would have on my life I would have laughed at you. They are honestly the greatest. Parker, Christian, Spencer and Josh (who didn't come to dinner). They have been there for me through it all. And honestly I am closer with them after all of these years than any of my friends that are my age. Actually today 5 years ago was the first time we hung out. Well, with Parker and Christian anyways. Alvin and the Chipmunks at the movie theatre on 12th street. Then a few days later I met Greg as we played 'Sting' at Parker's house and Christian wore my hair extensions. Ha ha. Man I am so glad we are still friends. I can count on them for anything. Love you boys! And I guess I owe all the credit to Trevor. And Myrika. So thanks, guys. haha.

**^^ More basketball games. Waiting for Varsity. Being bored. And saying "bring it on Skyview!"

**Jabari Parker came to BYU and I sat right across from him! Yes, THEE Jabari Parker. I had arrows drawn on there so you could see him but they disappeared. He is the one right under and to the left of the orange shirt dude. He's a stud. But didn't choose BYU... So go DUKE. I'm ok with it, I like Duke.
**It's fun finding your brother's name and pictures on the internet and in the newspaper! Weber is currently 9-1 and ranked 3rd in the state! Keep up the killer season boys!

WHEW. That was a lot of jumbled mess. Sorry. Not sorry. My life is great right now. I'm down to one single semester left at BYU. And I only have 1 yucky class! It is gonna be a pretty chill semester (I hope anyways). Just snowboarding, working, and that's about it.

One year ago was the knee surgery. Crazy how time flies. One year ago I had to rely on the mercy of other people for about 8 weeks.  I was so depressed and miserable. It's fun to see how far I (and my knee) have come! :)

Talk soon, k bye!

Seven down.

One to go. Semesters, that is. I just survived my hardest semester at BYU and I honestly couldn't be happier. My next semester is filled with a bunch of garbage classes like Family Finances and Philosophy. I'm thrilled. I only have one class for my major where as this semester every single class I had was for my major. A little overwhelming. But it is over!!!!! And I don't go back to school until January 7th. That is AFTER my birthday. Oh man, BYU really knew how to make my senior year great!

I even got to read Harry Potter today after taking my last final :) I haven't read it since the first week of the semester.. maybe one day I will finish book 7! Now just a little work (and when I say little I mean 50 hours in the next 6 days) and then I get to go home for a week! And I'll probably reward myself for all of my hard work this semester by going snowboarding on monday :) Why not?! I also cleaned out my backpack, notebooks, and desk and my room is spotless!

My apartment is gonna be super quiet this weekend! All of my roommates are leaving for the break so I'll have the place to myself for the week! Which means the TV is all mine and my music will be blaring as loud as I please!

I just realized I never uploaded these pics! Here are a few from my apartment's successful Halloween party! Just call me Martha Stewart! Actually, please don't.

Well that is life in a nutshell right now I guess. Just the usual. Oh and then there is this boy that lives in California that I wish didn't live in California.

Merry Christmas!!!!

Dear Melanie,

  • You are about three months shy of 22.
  • You live at the Village at South Campus on 600 n. and 600 e.
  • You are a senior at BYU studying exercise science.
  • You work at Target as a pharmacy technician.
  • Your roommates are Savanah, Jenny, and Lauren.
  • You were just called to serve as the 2nd counselor in the Relief Society.
  • Your main focus right now is growing out your hair (haha gagging down 6 fish oil pills a day and ovation-ing 3 nights a week)
  • You recently decided not to go to pharmacy school. Everything you have planned on doing your whole life. And now you have no idea what you are doing.
  • You graduate in 7 months with a bachelor's degree
  • You are currently reading Alma 43
  • You drive an '05 white dodge neon
  • You haven't been on a date since April. wow.
Well since this was started on 9/23 I guess I am a little behind on my blogging...

Let's just say this semester has been a hectic one and I cannot wait for it to be over! I am also filled with so much joy because there is only 2 days of class this week! Then a week and a half of class left a few papers and projects due and finals and then i'm done for 3 whole weeks!!!!!!!!! It will be the longest break BYU has ever given me. SO grateful. Let's just say my countdown to graduation chain ( that i probably haven't told you about since I haven't blogged in so long) is getting small...er. haha It is still pretty long unfortunately.

I am super excited for this time of year! I love the holidays and being able to spend lots of time with family and away from work as much as possible. AND it means my Birthday is coming up!!! Big 22. It also means that I'm about to start my VERY LAST semester at BYU. I couldn't be happier. It will be bitter sweet though. I'm already sad that I'll be missing next football season. :(

Life is good though. Great, actually. Life is just plugging along and I'm feeling very blessed! If I had any pictures to show you I would... But I think they are all stuck on my camera which is in my car which is downstairs. So maybe next time, in 3 months. haha just kidding. I'm going to start being good again. I mean if it makes you feel any better the calendar in my bedroom is still on October... and I don't feel justified in changing it all to November for only 2 weeks so I'm just going to wait till December.

Not too much is going on, except for everything at the same time. If that makes any sense.

Since this is the week of Thanks, I will post my yearly (2010 & 2011) thankful post sometime soon!

Until then, eat lots of pie :)

September in a second!

Park qualified for the boston marathon so we graced him with our presence and a huge awesome cookie.

I spent a grand total of $800 on car repairs/registration in the month of September... and while I was at the shop I couldn't help but laugh at this sign on one of the workers' computers.. You can't really see it but it says "no swearing the Lord is listening" -Good words of advice dude!
My anatomy professor showed up in a suit, started taking off layers and ended up in this skeleton outfit to help us study for our exam. He is so funny. I have him for 2 of my classes and he cracks me up.
My parents went to New York and brought me back these cool M&M's!
Savanah and I pulled out our mattresses and slept in the living room over the weekend!
I applied for graduation!!! April 2013 can't come soon enough!

Finally met Jimmer!!!
And Mase was more excited about meeting his wife, Whitney!

Time is just flying by! Can't believe it is already almost halfway through October! It is ridiculous! next thing you know, the brother is going to be turning in his mission papers!! CRAZY! Man I sure love General Conference time. The fall is my favorite time of year! I love the start of a new school year, football season, changing leaves, wearing warm clothes but not having to lug around a huge coat, and everything in between. I got to go home and be with my whole family for more than 5 hours. The last time that happened was on our family vacation in July!

I saw this quote on another blog today and really loved it!

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude." - Joseph B Wirthlin

strange sally.

Sometimes with my job I have the privilege of dealing with some really weird people. I see my share of diversity that is for sure. All sorts of backgrounds, all sorts of problems. It is kind of cool really. All at the pharmacy for one reason or another. Birth control, anti-depressants, insulin, antibiotics, pain relievers, you name it. On occasion I will have to deal with a real piece of work. Someone that is really complicated and demands a lot of work, someone that cannot be satisfied no matter what you do, others stink really bad or are really sketchy. Well today at work I was working up front and helping in the drop-off line. I was helping a lady and I was entering her insurance information into the computer when I hear a man say in a singy voice to the tune of the song, "call me maybe". I looked up and kind of chuckled thinking it was a funny dad joking around with his daughter but then when I look up I find a 40 something year old homely looking man all by himself with his earphones in. haha then I really start laughing. It gets better. So I finish helping the lady, take care of the prescriptions and then the man walks up to the counter while saying "alright it is the strange mans turn. i'm the strange man, call me maybe."He gives me the prescriptions and asks me to fill them. They were for his wife. I start taking down his information and entering them into the system when he starts mumbling. I am trying SO SO hard not to laugh so I bite my lower lip. I am writing some things down and not talking while out of nowhere (maybe cause he saw my CTR ring?) he says, "I'm not LDS. I'm not. I'm not a mormon. I don't know if you care, but I'm not." I kind of laugh a little and say no, I dont care. I continue to tell him that they will be done in twenty minutes and he can pay when he picks them up. He then says, "where do i pick up because I don't know what I'm doing, I don't ever get sick or ever have a cough. I never come to the pharmacy. But I do have IBS. I probably told you too much." WHOA.... too much info dude. ha ha so awkward. I walk away to go fill the prescriptions and he stays at the counter and continues to sing the phrase "call me maybe". We laughed about it the rest of the day. It was so funny. I guess you really had to be there. Well bedtime for me.

GO COUGS!
